Supervisory Board confirms its trust in the Member of the Executive Board for Production and Logistics

Porsche AG extends Albrecht Reimold’s contract by five years

Stuttgart. The Supervisory Board of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG has made the early decision to extend Albrecht Reimold’s (56) mandate as Member of the Executive Board for Production and Logistics by five years. Reimold has been with the Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer since February 1, 2016. His new contract begins on February 1, 2019.

Since Reimold became a member of the Executive Board, Porsche has introduced the new generations of the Panamera and Cayenne onto the market as well as successfully completing the product launches for various 911 and 718 derivatives. The Leipzig site was expanded significantly in preparation for the Panamera models. At the main plant in Zuffenhausen, the focus is on restructuring the site for the sports car production of the future and for the production of the first purely electric Porsche, due to be launched in 2019. Sustainability is an especially important topic for Albrecht Reimold, who instigated the switch to certified natural energy at all Porsche locations starting in January 2017. In addition, all transportation of finished vehicles by rail has been carbon neutral since the beginning of this year. Another objective is to produce the Mission E using a CO2-neutral process in the future.

“Albrecht Reimold represents perfection and passion in the automotive industry”, says Dr Wolfgang Porsche, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Porsche AG. “With so many years of experience behind him, he is exactly the right person to ensure that the facilities at our historical headquarters are perfect for us to continue producing new, fascinating sports cars at the highest level of quality, well into the future.” The sports car manufacturer is investing more than 700 million euro in Stuttgart Zuffenhausen alone and creating approximately 1,200 new jobs to enable production of the Mission E electric vehicle. A body shop, paint shop, assembly area and an 800-meter-long conveyor bridge are currently under construction. The engine plant is also being expanded to enable production of electric units.

After studying as a production technician, Albrecht Reimold also trained as a toolmaker and can look back on several years of experience with the various Group brands. During his career, he has performed all of the key roles relating to production as well as collaborating on innovations such as the implementation of lightweight construction technologies. Managing the Audi plant in Neckarsulm represented one of the formative stages of his career. Reimold gained international experience in Italy at Lamborghini, at the Volkswagen Changchun site in China and as Chairman of the Executive Board at Volkswagen Slovakia.
